Mini Baccarat

Rules, Drawing Table, and Glossary

Mini Baccarat is a comparing-card game. You bet on whether the Player hand, Banker hand, or a Tie will finish closest to 9. The cards are then dealt automatically according to fixed rules.

Free play-money practice only. No real-money wagering, deposits, prizes, or cash-out.

Rules

How a Round Works

1. Choose a Bet

Bet on Player, Banker, or Tie. These labels name the two hands; they do not mean you are playing one hand yourself.

2. Deal Two Cards

Player and Banker each receive two cards. If either hand has a natural 8 or 9, the round ends immediately.

3. Apply Drawing Rules

Any third cards are dealt automatically. There are no hit or stand decisions in Baccarat.

4. Compare Totals

The hand closest to 9 wins. Only the last digit counts, so a card total of 15 becomes a Baccarat total of 5.

Card Values

Ace

Aces count as 1.

2 through 9

Number cards count at face value.

10, Jack, Queen, King

All 10-value cards count as 0.

Last Digit Only

Totals wrap after 9. For example, 7 plus 8 equals 15, so the hand total is 5.

Payouts on This Table

Player

Pays 1 to 1 when Player wins.

Banker

Pays 0.95 to 1 after the standard 5% commission.

Tie

Pays 8 to 1 when the final totals match.

Push on a Tie

If the result is a Tie, Player and Banker wagers are returned.

Drawing Rules

When Third Cards Are Dealt

The game handles this table automatically. It is included so you can understand why a third card did or did not appear.

Bet Comparison

Player, Banker, or Tie?

Baccarat has no card-play decisions after the bet. Banker and Player are the main even-money choices, while Tie is a much higher-variance wager. Previous results do not change the odds of the next independently dealt round.

Glossary

Baccarat Terms

Banker

One of the two dealt hands. A winning Banker bet pays after a 5% commission.

Player

The other dealt hand. It is a label, not necessarily the person using the game.

Natural

A two-card total of 8 or 9. No third cards are dealt when either side has a natural.

Shoe

The group of decks used to deal rounds. This game uses an eight-deck shoe.

Commission

The 5% deducted from Banker winnings, producing a 0.95-to-1 profit.

Push

A returned wager. Player and Banker bets push when the round ends in a Tie.
